The overriding concern behind the FFSL is to ensure that software declared gratis ("free as in beer") remains gratis: not that profit can't or shouldn't be made from the use of FFSL-covered packages, but that they should not be sold for a fee, nor should a fee be charged to use or modify them. As this is a different focus than many other free software licenses, you are urged to study the license terms carefully for software packages you intend to use that are offered under the FFSL.
The current FFSL release is version 1. The most current version of the FFSL is always available from this page. You may also access it via gopherspace at gopher://gopher.floodgap.com/1/ffsl/.
Currently, the FFSL is only available in English. If you have questions regarding the FFSL, please send mail to ckaiser@floodgap.com. Questions regarding a particular software package should be addressed to that package's maintainer.
