Notes and History
An unsigned mystery, the termini and mileage correspond exactly to the section of ME 5 along Ocean Park Rd between US 1 and the end of signed I-195 where ME 5 takes over its old alignment. If so, this would imply that ME 5 is actually not on the alignment that it is signed upon. 5B's termini and mileage are exactly the same as ME 5S, and the presence of ME 5S makes a case for ME 5 actually being routed over I-195. However, there is insufficient data to verify this theory.
