Notes and History	First defined in 1960, this alternate alignment of ME 5 in Lovell (2.1 miles) is clearly a bypass but it's not terribly obvious what it's bypassing; it is not an old alignment. Possibly because of its nebulous raison d'etre, it no longer appears as state highway in the most current log but was very probably a recent casualty (likely ca. 2003-4) as it still appears on NAVTEQ and local maps. It is probably still signed in the field.
