Notes and History	ME 232 appears to have always occupied its current routing since its initial designation in 1955 partially on the former alignment of ME 120 between Rumford Point at US 2 and Bryant Pond at ME 26. Only the portion south of East Milton is former ME 120; the remaining alignment of ME 232 from there to US 2 was newly designated.
