Termini and Mileage (2006) |
|
Notes and History |
ME 223 as originally designated in 1931-2 ran on new routing between Caribou at US 1 (now ME 164) and Four Corners at ME 165 (now US 1A). Its original terminus was actually at Knights Corner Rd and Center Limestone Rd, slightly west of its current intersection today. Surviving the Maine Great Renumbering, the route remained constant until 1953 when it was cut to its present terminus with ME 89 and its old routing between Caribou and ME 89 given to ME 89 instead. It has since remained unchanged. |
