Notes and History |
ME 10 is
an original routing of US 1 through this region; see US 1 and US 1A for
the history of this alignment. The ME 10 designation does not appear until
1940, and
its routing has not changed since. An odd stair-stepped alignment, it leaves
what is now US 1A along Center Rd through Easton, then executes four
90-degree turns along Easton Rd, Centerline Rd and Academy St to enter
Presque Isle and terminate at US 1.
