Y2K Compliance Statement
Simply put, HTTPi is and always has been Y2K compliant intrinsically.
What this boils down to is HTTPi is as Y2K compliant as the Perl executable
you run it with. Its code does not make any century asssumptions per se, and
it never used two digit years, even internally.
Please note that, therefore, if your underlying OS or Perl executable has
Y2K difficulties, then HTTPi (which depends on Perl to acquire dates) will
also be impaired. However, once you patch these portions, HTTPi will also
operate correctly. Tom Christiansen has an excellent article on the
issue of Y2K compliancy and Perl,
and the creators of HTTPi implore you to read it.
Dates are only used in HTTPi for logging and header information.
Please note also that the HTTPi License precludes
your assignment of legal
liability or responsibility to HTTPi's creators or contributors in cases of
dispute over its Y2K compliance. As HTTPi is a free program, support is
neither obligatory nor mandatory from the creators. You use this program
at your own risk.
